Watkins Museum Marks 50 Years

For 50 years the Watkins Museum has fostered connections with the community—welcoming visitors, sharing stories, preserving materials that link the present with our past. Founded to preserve the magnificent Watkins National Bank Building, the museum has accomplished much more over this time. The Watkins has forged a valuable relationship with the public, an achievement equal to that original purpose in importance.  Where is the value in preserving history, if that history is not used to engage, inform, and inspire the community whose heritage it represents? The Watkins Museum’s anniversary celebration is as much about the community we serve, and the many partners who have contributed to our success, as it is about the museum. Watch for special events, new exhibits, and community activities throughout the year. We hope you will join the celebration. Happy 50th Birthday!
